Now with style switching

I have added a snazzy style switcher (the nice coloured squares under the menu). I still need to change a couple of images.

See this tutorial for how I achieved this amazing feat! (sarcasm btw, its not that amazing, but it is very snazzy).

About Twitter

I decided to see what all the fuss about Twitter was at the beginning of summer. I have come to conclusion thats its fun if you know lots of your friends on twitter, or you are trying to communicate with a fan base or customer base that will happily read your posts.

At first I did find it quite fun and mildly addictive, but only a little. I then preceded to get bored as I knew no-one was actually reading it and now I have stopped. (I also realise that no-one is probably reading this.)

Its also difficult if everyone you know is on Facebook and would not really want to use twitter so there is no point in trying to force it on them.

So twitter is good if you know people will read it.
It is also quite interesting reading about a few of the geek celebrities that use it and what they actually do.
Its bad when you know no-one is reading it, and all you end up doing is reading when someone who you don't care about is going out.

The Wisdom of Clouds

I was shown this the other day:

The Wisdom of Clouds

And needless to say, I am impressed, its a good idea.

Basically its a site that will:
1) Aggregate loads of weather information
2) Let you predict the weather, then score you based on correctness. Someone might be a better predictor than the weatherman.
3) Aggregates what everyone is wearing so, for example, you know if you need a coat when you go out.

I think thats a sensible summary, (corrections welcome (please!))

So check out cumul.us (great name as well) when its live.

Fakescience

Fakescience.com is a music store for independent bands to sell their music. Albums go for $5 and EPs go for $2, which is damn cheap for the quality of the music.

Sadly Fakescience is closing down at the end of the month (31st October), so I urge everyone to go have a look, there is some really good stuff.

Here is the list of what I have purchased in no particular order:

Silence Under Snow - Silence Under Snow
Troll - Pathless Land
The Great Auk - Paradox
Joshua Marcus - Make/Believe
Red Cassette - Thin King Twice
Sherman Community Arts - Up the Stairs and Through the Hall, Vol. 1
Steve Kirk - Pop Quiz
Subimage - Bernal Hill
Peloton - Peloton
Troll - Que Son Los Trolls Y En Que Nos Ayudan
Spycloud - Down The River
Carbon Based Life Forms - Hydroponic Garden
Aes Dana - Season Five
The Fits - Near Fits
The Harbours - Second Story Maker

Comments Again!

Just thought I would check to see if there was any updated to any captcha methods for cutenews and it turns out someone had posted how to get reCaptcha working!

Also, I may try and post things, on a weekly basis, maybe.
